That you have refrained from lighting up (and from killing anyone, too), for a full year now is terrific! Near as I can tell from here, your even-keeled demeanor has barely tipped this way or that.

Ken, you are truly The Man!

Congrats, and thanks for being who you are.

I'll add my congrats to this Ken, I can only imagine how hard it is.

I smoke cigars, but I've gone weeks on end without smoking one, and never had a problem, so I can only imagine how hard it has to be to give up smoking.

You are doing well, and I bet you have saved a bunch of cash too....... I hope some of that went into the turning budget :D

Good Job Ken! :thumb:

Way to go Ken...I remember you quit smoking and I want on a diet about the same time....I'm glad YOU were able to stick to your convictions....:D

Thanks guys! Now I have to give up the nicotene laced gum.....It's kinda funny how habits effect you and how difficult they are to break.....I haven't a cigarette in 1 year now.......A couple of weeks before Christmas I got into a stressful situation at work.....went outside to my company minivan.....got in ....pushed in the cigarette lighter.....reach into my pocket.....found my gum.....oops.......It took me about 9-10 months to get my sense of smell back to a somewhat normal level....The LOML and I were on the way to Spokane to buy a new d/p so I could drill pen blanks.....stopped a casino for lunch and to let my wife have a gambling fix......I walked in....the place reeked of cigarette smoke.....I'd been in there many times before....I never noticed..

Ken

Congratulations on the success! Good thing you didn't discover, as I did MANY years ago, that nicotine gum chewed while smoking a cigarette is a very interesting experience! Had to learn to quit both!

Now....that I think about it I traded 1 addiction for another.......smoking for turning...........I think turning is more expensive too!

yeah but after the first 5-10 yrs you`ll have most of the stuff you think you`ll need......whereas smokin` required that you keep re-upin every coupla days.....even after 5-10 yrs......congratulations on a stronger will than i have!
