Spalted Maple Natural Edge Bowls

I'm almost out of my first wood score from just over 2yrs ago. I saw a HUGE maple that had been cut into good size chunks and I took as much as I could. Some of it rotted, but some of it spalted nicely and these two bowls are from some of the last of it. The big one is 11" and the smaller one is about 8" There were some punky areas that let to some tear out, but I don't think it takes to much away from them. I can't believe the bark stayed on...no CA glue was needed to help either. Sorry for the pics, can't find my camera, but loving my new LG Lotus phone. (stealth gloat)

Real nice looking bowls Jeff.:thumb::thumb:

I don't know why....but was expecting them to be 3" thick:huh::dunno::rolleyes::D

Go find some more maple!

Thanks Barry!

I have and idea for another NE bowl that will meet your expectations...coming soon.

BTW I have lots more maple, just not from that first score. :rolleyes:
