    More Pens for theTroops

    Turned some Pens for the Troops. Got the kits and blanks from Woodcraft, Dublin, CA. All the pens are Slim Line, Cobalt Gold, Sanded to 600 grit, 2 coats of Mylands Cellulose Sanding Sealer sanded with 600 between coats, finished with three coats of Mylands High Build Friction Polish. sanded with 600 between coats. Beall buffed with Tripoli, White Diamond Compound and Carnauba wax The first three are Curly Maple, the fourth is a mystery wood and the fifth is Purple Heart.

    I picked up three Black Titanium Euro Style kits and some exotic wood to turn pens for three soldiers that I know, two Ė a team, serving in Afghanistan and my step sonís brother in law, serving in Iraq. Iíll mail them directly to them.
