    winged, lidded, bowl? box?

I am not sure what to call this. It is 10" square.

The bottom section is "Andiroba" sp?, a poor choice of wood for this shape (it was difficult to get a clean exit cut near the corners). The lid is Holly, pierced by some talented worms. The finial is Cocobolo.

Dennis nice bowl. Never done anything like that yet. Might have to put that on my need to try list. Your right them worms are real talented.

That's very cool, Dennis. I've not heard of andiroba before, but it works well with that awesome birch.

Hard to see lots of detail in the picture, but the shape/design looks good to me. Nice work!

Some really cool wood that you folded into a very neat box

Where do you get the talented worms

Great piece Dennis, I tried one of those suspended bowls once... it jumped off the lathe and broke two legs... so I shot it.

Very nice Dennis. I really like the contrast in the woods.
