Finally!!!
I took some pictures of my lathe, the stand I made, my first project (a table lamp), and my first try at a bowl.

The 2 projects are made from maple.

hey, good to see you using that 1220, when you want so scraps to practice on give me a holler, I have a couple of carts filled with cutoffs.
Nice work, are you going to make pens soon?

Thanks, Wayne

I've got 8 spindle blanks of different wood the I plan to round during the holiday's (Red Oak, White Oak, Red Gum, Hickory, Walnut, Birch, Cherry, and Redwood).

I need all the practice I can get.

Joseph,
Nice lathe stand for a good lathe... I have the Jet 1014 that my son gave me when he gave up turning.... it's a great little lathe - a real work horse... I also got a 1442 to do bigger project on... love both of them...

I started turning pens on a Ridgid, then switched to the 1014 when I got it... my preference for turning is bowls, hollow forms (which I'm only marginal at right now) and pepper mills. I still do a few pens because they sell, but not my turning of choice.
