    Early American/Texana look, Houston area

For any Houston area folks interested in Early American/Texana furniture, you might be interested in this exhibition. For any non-Texans, Bayou Bend is the home of the first Texas born Governor of the state, Jim Hogg, who's daughter Ima was the first lady of fine arts in the Houston area. Ms. Hogg (or Miss Ima, as she was called) started to collect Early American and Texana furniture and fine arts at the start of the 20th century and held one of the best private collections in the country. Upon her death the home (Bayou Bend) along with the family plantation were given to the public.

    Hi Cecil.
Thank you for the heads up on the Ima Hogg tour. Went through her place years ago and found it quite interesting, will try to catch it this time.
