    DeWalt Miter saw

Not quite a Santa since I got it for myself.

This is the 10" version and it is a huge step up from my old Delta. I was able to get some dust collection set up for it. I just need to build a hood now.

    Rennie,
I just ran a hose off of the bag fitting down to my DC collector box. Work fine.

i ran a 2" 90 of pvc from the back and then boxed in the area as close as i could to the saw and still get all the movement..the less area you have to draw from the better it will get your dust.

I've had a similar 10" DeWalt for a number of years. Its a little workhorse. Congrats.

I have the dust chute attached to a shop vac and a 16" hood in back of the saw attached to my DC and It still blows dust everywhere. I can contain 70% at best.

looking at all the installations I might have 'over-thought' the DC issue, but it is what it is. I will definitely extend the dust port on the saw to angle it towards the DC port. I will probably still go through with a hood of some kind, if, for no other reason, to keep the dust from blowing all over the adjoining benches. Thanks for the help!
