Hall tree It's done

First one more of that 1/2" knot
2 and 3 all three of the back panels are glued up.
The last pic is the back panel all done it is 71.5 tall by 67.75 wide.
Now to shape the sides and build a front panel and a seat.:thumb:
If one was to look close at pic 3 they might just find some work from another FWW member hanging about.

All the hand planing is now done:thumb:
Only one 55 gallon bag of shavings :thumb:
And the shavings collector only broke down 3 times.
The fool yellow dog of mine thinks it is his job to eat all the shavings as they come off the bench. Not off the floor if you don't catch them they are out of play. I had to stop 3 times to pick stuff out of his eyes. I need a pair of dogie safety glasses for him.
But catching shaving makes his tail go in circles.

Well I have come to an impasse for today. Got the sides straight lined and ripped for width. Got them cut for length and all laid out for shape. Then realized the jig saw is in the work trailer.
So the jig is up for that project until I take a ride to get the saw.

Well just couldn't contain my self and I was off to get the jig saw.
First pic There all the parts are planed.
2 Ripping out the sides.
3 cutting the ends of the sides, both at the same time so I clamped the rail down. The 2 parts are screwed together.
4 All cut out and drilled for screws and plugs.
5 Sides all on and top valance in. The 45's you can see are just bracing till the glue drys and the front is on. And again I caught that fine FWW members work.

Chuck, coming along nicely! Man that is a serious electrical panel. The last post of pictures, did you load them differently? They come up as singles and the last one won't open up/enlarge. Wherever this is going, sure must be a large hallway, that doesn't look like it would fit through my door let alone fit in any room of my house!

So far today
1 set up to rip out some rails.
2 ripping out rails with a perfectly good TS right there
3 and 4 tension release it's a good 3/8" oh well re rip to straighten them out.
5 a bit disappointed in my 450 dollar Festool. My panel bid does not fit in the base.
6 oh well back to the old 200 dollar. See fits just like a glove.
7 panel raising bit on with panel rasing custom base plate.
8 first pass.
9 second pass all done.
10 panel all glued up and that's why I'm here posting. Waiting for glue to dry.

Man, I can't believe you were hand-holding that panel raiser! I'd be way too chicken to try that!
You do want to be holding on when you flip the switch.:thumb:
Ok so the day is done or I'm waiting for glue to dry.:dunno:
1 got the front panel on
2 have the bottom put in
3 compartments all made
4 crown molding on and the seat board being cut out.
5 seat all made, still needs a hing and I need to see if I can retrain the board. It has a pretty good twist. If it can't be trained it will keep me warm.
6 plugs all in
7 a better shot of the plugs. It kinda looks like a porky pine. The inspector is checking to make sure the job was done right.
8 plugs all cut ready to be installed. (This should have been pic 6 but I forgot to up load it.)

Ok so the seat/lid board failed it's retraining. Just proves some dog ya just can't teach new tricks.
Here's 2 pics of it all done with the first seat/lid. As I type the shellac is drying on the new and improved flat seat/lid board:thumb:
Oh and the owner didn't care for the hinges. So we went and got new ones and some hooks for the back.

Waiting for paint to dry.
This board was about a 1/4" thicker than the res. Or the top of the board you can see the top of the griz 20" planer it made short work of getting the board down to size. :thumb:
I have been asked what that oak frame on the other side of the bench is. Well it's a dragon house. That's the back of it.
