    spalted pecan box

Here's a box i built today. All i have left is small pieces of the pecan. Didn't want to waste them so i'm turning them into boxes. this first one has a holly top with final. i have enother on the lathe as i type. that one will have a walnut top with final. not sure after that but i'll come up with something.
This box is 5x2 1/2 with the final 3 inches.
    thanks and all comments welcome.
    Steve

Very nice, Steve. The holly goes well with the pecan, and you did a great job with both.

That is a pretty piece. The woods work well together.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how the holly would go with it but glad i cut down that little holly tree. It gave it's life so i could have fun.

Larry this pecan i've been turning has all been off just 1 branch of the tree. Not enough to cut for flat work. Wouldn't mind having some boards if they would cut down that big tree.
