jig for sharpening wodd turning tools

"Stu in Tokyo" used a wonderful hand made jig in a You Tube video of how to sharpen a wood turning gouge. Anyone know if there any plans available for that jig??

    Thanks in advance

Hi Bob, welcome to the Family!

I'm the Stu you are talking about, and I got my ideas for that jig from various places around the net, but the link that Alan shows..........

.......... I could not hope to improve on that design!

    Cheers!

I have tried this one but was never happy with it. I did a little more searching and thats when I found the one I listed and it works great.

    hand made sharpening jig

Thanks to Alan Bienlein, Larry LaRoque and Stu Ablett for your prompt response and suggestions. I have downloaded the plans from Shapewood to make the jig, along with other parts. At this time I am in Florida, far from my woodworking shop in Somers, N.Y., so I will not be able to try to build the jig until my return north in the Spring...but will keep you informed.

Really hate to crank up a 2-yr. old thread, but this site is evidently no longer viable. Does anyone know where else the sharpe1.PDF download might be available?

    Thanks,

    Mike
