Posting smilelys

Ken, you need to set your editing options to the "Enhanced Interface" setting. Here's how:

  1. Click User CP in the upper left corner of any forum page.
  2. In the list of options on the left of the screen, click Edit Options in the Settings and Options section.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page that's displayed, and you'll see the Message Editor Interface section. In the drop-down menu displayed, select the Enhanced Interface option.
  4. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page, and you're done.
After doing that, you should see a bunch of smileys on the right of the message editing box each time you you click Post Reply in a thread. Note, however, if you click the Quick Reply button at the bottom of the post, you won't see the smileys. You can still type the characters manually, though. For example, a colon : and a right-hand parenthesis symbol ) will make this: :). If you click the More option in the list of smileys, you can see the character equivalents for each of the smileys we have here.

If you see a smiley in a post that's not shown on the list, that means the poster has linked to a smiley graphic that's hosted on another website.

I hope this helps -
