Hey everyone It has been quite some time since I've been on here. Hope everyone is doing well!
I'm looking for a specific kind of washer (at least I guess that's what you'd call it) and I cannot find it ANYWHERE. It is hard to explain exactly what it is, but I guess you would call it a serrated washer, or washer with teeth I attached a picture below with an arrow pointing to the part I'm talking about.
I want to use it in the same application that the picture is showing. I have built adjustable arms to add to my keyboard stand so that I have 2 tiers and can put my synthesizer above my keyboard to play in my band. I attached a couple of pictures to show what I've built so you get an idea. At first I thought the arms would sag when weight was applied to them so I put nylon washers inbetween the moving parts, but those showed no sign of resistance. Then I got some rubber washers and that helped, but the arms still sag slooooowwly until they rest against my keyboard below when I apply weight.
These big washers with teeth I believe would be the perfect solution. I know I have seen them on a number of household items but I have looked everywhere and cannot find them sold seperately. I checked both Rockler and a local Ace Hardware that usually has ANY piece of hardware you can imagine, but no luck Then I spent a long time looking online but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I suppose it would help if I even knew what to call it I am not picky on the size but the steel I used is 1 1/2" so something around that would be great. Wondering if anyone has seen these sold seperately and has an idea where to buy them? Or if anyone has an idea for a different solution? Thanks guys
