Thanks again Todd hows about a picture of the otherside now. Thats looking like what i got except they then used wedges to keep the stairs in place and its all stapled together. 
Hey Todd the piece that you added to the i dunno call it side of the stringer, was that solid or ply. Also why add a piece rather than just routing the solid side anyhow. Is this so that the stringer side support is 3/4 thick rather than probably 3/8 if you had to rout into the side itself.
In this design where does the squeaking come in then. I dont see you building stuff that squeaks so where have they gone wrong on mine.
