    Something different

My wife belongs to a couple of gardening blog groups... she recently had a conversation with one of the bloggers about making paper pots for see germination... they use a paper potter to make the newspaper pots. I did some research and the only place I could find any was on a couple of UK web sites... I downloaded a couple of photos and tried my hand at making her one...

My first was okay, not great, but the second was just about what I wanted. I didn't finish them, LOML didn't want a finish on it, she liked the natural feel of the raw wood... turned from ELM and sanded through 400 grit.

My parents taught me to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder to find any.

Cool idea, Chuck. You might have found a new market, too.

Dan's post is right on... you roll strips of paper around the cylinder, fold the ends over and use the base to tamp the folds tight.
