Is birch especially unstable?

Or did I just get some badly dried boards? I've never used it before, outside of plywood. No big deal with this batch, as they'll be painted face frames, but when I get to the doors I may have to spring for some maple.

i used to work in a lumber yard and the birch that we got in, was straight when w got it banded up but it would not stay that way very long it may have been the storage methode so from what i have seen in the past yes its very stressfull stuff.

if it were me i would use maple for the doors

I have found maple to stay straight much better than birch. So, I suggest using maple.
