114 Mortise & tenon joints;
36 dados;
8 miter joints, and,
I think I'm done with the A&C style for a while...

This small (33" high, 36" long on one side, 28" on the other) shelf unit was made to fit in a specific niche at the top of our stairs. It's oak, finished with a coad to Watco Medium Walnut, mixed with a bit of Japan drier, then several sprayed on coats of garnet shellac. I didn't keep track of the hours, but just worked on it here and there for severmonths, between other projects.

Lots of little mortises, eh! Sure looks like you paid attention to each and every one... Well worth it I'd say! :thumb:

I'm betting that after about mortise number 112 or 113, you were starting to think dowels might have been a better way to go. :D

That's a real nice-looking shelf unit, Jim. :thumb:

Actually, it was probably more like after 12 or 13...:D In all truthfulness, I cut 116 overall, but I two were mistakes that I had to plug and re-cut ...:(

I haven't cut so many M&T joints since I made that Morris Chair a while back.
