I just hope these are authentic and not photoshop specials.

I dont know a thing about volcanoes. Certainly did not know they generated that kind of electricity.

What a pity we dont have a means to harness that energy thats there.

I think the lightning is caused by the clouds of particles, just like a storm cloud. Super heated air is probably pretty dry...might add to the instability and lightning.
I understand some of these pictures are from NASA. I too don't know the validity. Maybe NASA's website would tell? Jim.

Wow those are cool with the lightning, Something I can imagine right out of the minds in hollywood. I am expect to see some fantastic monster being developed there with that light show ( been watching movies with the kids again lol) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting.
They show nature is still, and always be, in charge.
Reportedly, the first day of the volcano more CO2 and particulates were put into the air than from all cars combined in use from day one the automobile was put on the road.
Those lightening pics are something else. Very ethereal. Or maybe a glimpse into hell.

That car in pic #3 of the original post - is that what they mean by "If you live in dusty conditions you should change your oil more often" ?

Yikes!

BTW - I think Mother Nature owes someone a boat load of carbon credits for this little tantrum!

Cheers

Jim
