Post your coordinates for all to see !

This thread springs from Larry Merlau's thread "jist my opinion!" where Larry asks people to give some idea of the region they live in in their profiles.

Lee Deraud already had his precise latitude/longitude in his profile and several of us used Google Maps or Google Earth (free download) to have a look at Lee's home and surroundings.

You don't need a GPS to get accurate coordinates. If you use Google Earth you simply have to position the pointer over your place and read the coordinates off the bottom left of the screen.

I still wouldn't recommend posting long. and lat. if you've been featured on America's Most Wanted or if the IRS, Inland Revenue or Revenue Canada are looking for you.

If you'd like to post your place, please respond to this thread and I'll edit you into this list. This is totally voluntary - FW is not asking for this info - it's just for those who want to participate.

The list is now organised by location from West to East:

    Rick Fulton - 5048'50.79"N, 554'34.57"E

    Ian Gillis - 4436'27.88"N, 6403'33.80"W

Do you want my house, my shop or living room location?

There's a couple of things, guys. Google doesn't love us all equally - the resolution of the images is highest for population centers. Parts of my province are so blurry that you can't make out buildings at all.

I'm having some difficulty getting as close on Google Earth as I can on Google Maps. Operator error, no doubt. I'll work on it and see what I can find out. I've never tried the Microsoft counterpart to Google Earth, but there is one. Someone else will have to provide the name. Perhaps with that one we'll be able to see whether Larry washed behind his ear lugs or not
    All the best,

Lets see now a little south of the Canadian boarder a little east of Puget Sound just across 2 bridges from the mainland on an island. Yep that should be about close enough.

The pic is about 4 or 5 years old, our new building has not been built in this pic yet.
