Seeing how I messed up and mentioned I was building this yesterday. Here is the proof. Sled is 6'-6"

Looks really well. If I understand the sled correctly, you can adjust each of the individual slats to meet the contour of the board? This would allow you to flatten one side without the pressure of the rollers/feeders twisting the board as it planes that first side flat...correct?
 
Helps alleviate the problem of having a 6 inch jointer and a 12 inch planer.

Allows you to 'joint' something wider than 6 inches...
 
:doh:Did not think it through i guess. Thanks Brent.:thumb: Aint never seen one of those sleds with the cross bars out of line so figured they were attached, but then i guess the wedge would not work.:doh::):D:thumb:
 
Pretty useful jig. I've got one 8' long, but really need to make a shorter one too.

I like the little wedges Steve did. Made mine out of pine, but they split if you drive the screw in too hard.
