Need contrasting wood

I am building a TV stand for a friend. It is out of red oak and I am going to make the handles out of a different type. Door size is about 18x18 and handles will be about 3" long, for reference. What would contrast but not look to awful?

walnut has some, major grain in it that would go with the coarse grain of the oak.

I was just looking thru the rack seeing what was there. Walnut would be a good choice and easy to get more of if I had to .
