Not a Good Way to Make Points with the Inspector

My sister works for an engineering firm in Albuquerque, and she sent me these shots from a project (I believe) her company is involved with.

The contractor was pressure grouting on a project in Santa Fe...hit something very hard which redirected the boring tool. The pickup belongs to the jobsite safety inspector.

Looks like the bore came up from underneath the truck and out the driver's door, spewing grout throughout the process.

I'm sure it'll buff right out.

Had to look that one up.

That's wild. I'm just trying to figure out how that happened?

    Pressure Grouting
I've seen quite a bit of pressure grouting done, and I'm still trying to figure out how the bore ended up traveling upward and into the truck. I know the holes can drift a bit, but I've never heard of one being off nearly 180º. My guess was they were boring horizontally into the side of an excavation instead of down into the bottom of one. I need to ask my dad about this when I get a chance. He's forgotten more about soil stabilization than most folks will ever learn.

I'll bet the contractor will feel the pressure from the grouty safety inspector to take care of the situation.
