Here is a pen box that I made for a very special Pen Presentation.

Laser inlayed with the real small parts done in the fashion of a wood rubber stamp.

I think this picture is actually bigger than the real thing.

Used dyed maple for the red, green and blue. Yellowheart for the crosses and stars.

For the small stuff here is how:

1.You etch the area out of the box.

2. Make a wooden rubber stamp (mirror image of the etched area)

3. Glue and force wood (rubber stamp) into etched area

4. Sand smooth

Ya know Pete, if you keep practicing this inlay stuff, one of these days you're gonna get pretty good at it.

Awesome work, my friend. The 'rubber stamp' idea is brilliant, and the end result is almost unbelievably good.

Presented

The pen and box was made as a gift for a new Archbishop.

The inlay work on the box is the personal crest of the Archbishop.

The pen was a Bethlehem Olive Wood Emperor Ft Pen.

The cermony took place at the Vatican. Several friends of the Archbishop attended and the pen and box was a gift from one of these people.

I have no connection to the church but I am very honored and proud to be able to be a very small part of all this.

Archbishop Wenski’s motto is "Omnia Omnibus” meaning “All things to all men.”

There is a full page write up on the crest that describes in detail what every item and color signifies. Luckly I had dyed wood of the correct colors available.

Pete, that is such nice work, and the story behind it is very cool :thumb:

Pete did a little work for me, a pen case as a present to my cousin Dan and his new wife Jen, Dan is the one fighting cancer (he is hanging in there!!).

I just wanted to publicly thank Pete for the great work and quick turn around.

I hope it is OK that I put a picture of Pete's work up here :D :thumb:
