Because when gluing face frames to upper cabinet boxes it would be nice to not have so much clamp sticking out in the way to "spear" myself when walking by them as they wait to be taken out of the clamps, Smaller stuff doesn't need so much "bar" sticking out in the way of things.

Just my view....your mileage may vary....
