I guess lighter woods are starting to appeal to me. This came out of the current swap tour. Spalted Maple with Black Titanium finished in 4 coats of CA hit with 2400 between each coat. Only the 3rd time I used titanium, but it's becoming a favorite. Working on the photography too!

Second is a Ruth Niles stopper out of maple from Jim Delany. Some kind of glass bobble set in the top. Also done in 4 coats of CA.

Steve, these have many more uses that just wine bottles. Vinegars, olive oil, dressing can all be a bit dressed up from a little stopper action.

As always, suggestions are usually needed and welcome!

Looks like you snagged some nice pieces of wood, Jim. :thumb: Nice work on both pieces, but the pen is a real knockout.

Nice looking pen and stopper. I like tha spalted light woods. some of my favorite. Take some curly maple and due it with food coloring or ink or Ritz dye, simple and beautiful.
