makita 10.8 drill driver / impact problems ?

I know I haven't been posting much (too busy working to keep the house).

I have the makita 10.8 pair and today I was driving a screw in and it stopped spinning. The thing seems to have stripped the clutch as it will spin when I pull the trigger but stop as soon as I grab the chuck the schuck stops but the shaft still spins. I don't use it day in and day out but I'm a bit disappointed to say the least.

Has anyone else here had a similar issue or heard about it? I'm going to have to try to call makita tomorrow to see what I have to do about it.

Outside chance, but move the 'in/out' switch back and forth. I had a Grizz drill that gave me the same kind of problems. Found I kept hitting the reversing switch and putting it in the middle...

Just went out and tried it again to make sure I wasn't having a de de dee moment.

I can hold the chuck and when I pull the trigger it spins the shaft but not the chuck. I'm not looking forward to calling makita as they're call staff dont seem to be able to grab their own backside with two hands.

Yeah, give them a call. not worth having a pricey drill that doesn't work...

    Good luck!
