This piece ended up about 11-1/2" tall and about 11-1/2" wide. To be honest I was not at all impressed with this piece of wood until I started applying finish. The color and grain really showed then.

Well Mark, if that unimpressive lil' piece of magnolia bothers you too much, I could probably find some place here at the house to hide it for you. :D I'm just here to help, buddy. :p

the finish made that one come to life,, and the wood must have some clues prior that just doesnt happen with some finish applied it needs to be there in the beginning:rofl::thumb::thumb:
 
Yeah Larry, it was there... I just didn't think it would look as good as it ended up. The dark you see on it in this picture is from the staining of the dark DNA in my tub. It finally dried up and I was able to get most of that dark color out.
