I found this very nicely made Snell & Atherton tool this morning. It looks like some kind of carriage maker's tool, and leaves a nice slightly curved concave surface. I sharpened it up and it sings. But what is it?

Hi Ken

I found this comment by a guy selling the same thing.

"Item # 160 Snell & Atherton rebating tool. Primarily used in the shoemaking trade, it's in excellent condition having the adjustable throat and the brass edge guide. This one has the curved cutter adjustable up to 5/8 inch wide in the 'carriage makers style'. Designed for leather but also works on wood. Price $80 US shipped"
