    Elm closed form (vase?)

Started with an elm closed form and decided to do some carving on it (was inspired by a video from Trent Bosch). Finish is lacquer.

Wow, that's sweet, Dennis. The leaves look great and the form is perfect. Is this your first try at carving a turned piece?

I wish that I could say it was my first try at carving on a turned piece. It is my first attempt at leaves and the carving is more prominent than what I have done before.

Very nice Dennis. I have seen Trent's video. Some day I'd like to try something like that too. Have you used air powered tools like Trent? or foredom or is it hand carved?

Beautiful work! The carving really adds the personal uniqueness to a piece.

Wow, that is a great piece. The carving really makes the piece. The form is spot on too.
