Some time back, I spotted this little shelf at a garage sale, and bought it for $1. Thinking it would be perfect as a shot glass rack, I discovered that the spacing between the shelves was about 1/8" too narrow for standard-sized shot glasses.
Flipping it over & looking at the back, I saw that it was all screwed together, so I was hoping it was not also shot full of glue.
It wasn't, so I took it apart.
Then, using some leftover Sycamore from another project, I fabricated new uprights, with spacing between shelves increased by 1/4".
Dryfitting it back together to check both the fit & the spacing, I decided I liked the contrast between the darker wood of the shelves & back, and the lighter Sycamore of my new uprights, so I decided not to darken the Sycamore with stain, & re-assembled the shelf.
Hung it in an appropriate blank space of wall.
And filled it up.
Thanks for looking,
