    maple vase

Well here is a vase i made for my aunt. It's 8 3/4 x4 1/2 With the finial it's 13 1/4. It will be going to NY as that's where she lives. That spalted bowl will be going with it also. Not sure if she will want the finial on it,but if she don't she can always keep it off. She asked me to make her a bowl and vase, so this is what i'm sending her. Hope she likes them, showed my mom them in a e-mail and she thought she would love them. This is my moms little sister so i hope she's right.

If she doesn't like them, she should go see Jim Bradley and get her eyes checked out. The vase and bowl are very nice, but you absolutely nailed the finial. It has clean, crisp details and the shapes and proportions look spot on to me. You're stepping up your game nicely, Steve.

Luckly at 70 she don't see as good as she use to.The finial was turned from some crab apple i have, and it turned nice. thought it would have more color in it, but the smaller i got all i had left was the sap wood. Did seem to take detail well though.
