Wood train Tracks - Info and Help Please

Anyone have any good ideas on how to make the wood train tracks that hook together with a keyhole shaped link?

I think the commercial version is Thomas Trains.

Looking for some tips of how to setup to easily and repeatably make a track section.

I know I can buy them for about $2 per track piece but I would like my Grandkids to have homemade.

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

    Train track bits

I believe that MLCS has them also a little cheaper than Rockler
