    Some Amazing Turning

Andi Wolfe made this video of Claude Lethieq at the Hartford AAW Symposium. I'm still trying to figure out how he makes this stuff. I personally have no interest in making this kind of thing myself, but I'm still amazed and astounded by it...

I'm with you. This stuff is amazing. Not really anything I would want to try, but definitely amazing.

    That is so simple ...NOT.

I am with you guys. I have no clue how he made those.

I guess he uses Math to figure out the cuts. His engineering background must come in handy.

How would you even begin to visualize those in the first place, much less figure out how to turn it on a lathe!

Our local turning guild is having a demo on that on Sat. looking forward to seeing how it is done. Might be interesting to try once.

I am fascinated by the ability to do the Chinese balls. Cannot even visualize it happening on a lathe. Is there a video somewhere showing someone turning one on a lathe? I searched a little last night, didn't put a lot of effort into it, but couldn't find anything. It is a higher level of magic but close to those hollow forms Vaughn and others turn.

God and family, the rest is icing on the cake. I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place!

Mind boggling. At least my mind is completely boggled after seeing those.

There are tools sold by the major vendors for making Chinese balls.
