    Yellow Heart

I've been given a beautiful piece of yellow heart, approx 3/4x10 x48. Thought I might make some cutting boards, but what other species would complement it. i don't want to have just one color or do i ?

Yellowheart has the most interesting smell when you cut it. Sort of spicy. I'm really not sure how to describe it. It also keeps the colour very well. Try it by some purpleheart or similar, the contrast will be great.

(I'm assuming a side-grain board, did you mean an end-grain board?)
There's usually more than one way to do it...

Art, when you say a side grain board I assuming you mean face grain. I want to make end grain cutting boards

I have quite a bit of canary wood - anyone use this on cutting boards
