    nascar vase

    I was inspired by a fellow over in lj who send me plans on how to build this I took his plans and made my own version. made of canary walnut and jatoba finished with blo/lacquer.
    All comments welcome.

    Tom great looking vase. The only thing i see wrong with it is it don't have a # 88 and a #5 on it. Steve

    That is awesome!!! It gives the illusion on the top that the panels are flat or some type of octagon shape going ontop yet it is rounded/turned (I assume). I cannot wrap my head around the time involved, clamping neccessary, skills needed to complete something like this! That is a great piece! By any chance, pictures of the build, process, turning?

    Wow! that is a lot of work. If possible, I'd like to see a close-up of the design feature ring.

    Although I have given up on Nascar and all their "scheduled" pit stops, I love the bowl. I'm with Jonathan, I just can't imagen the work involved. Very nice work.

    No I don't have any pictures of the build up.
    I will try and get a close up of the feature ring and post it later.

    You guys doing segmented work must have the patience of Job and calculators for minds. I could no more even think of doing something like that than fly. Beautiful work
