What is bigger than a blue whale ?

So I don't know how many of you know of TED but given we are woodworkers, i think many of you will appreciate hearing about this. Makes for some interesting thoughts about our wood.

Next we will be asking does our wood have feelings

    Enjoy.
    cheers

OK you win, I watched about half of it. While I believe all living things have some sort of feelings, it's not something I want to dwell on. Now where is the Tylenol.

    ditto

I remember back in the 60's and 70's when plants were supposed to have feelings. My whacked out neighbor wouldn't even cut his grass. He was afraid he was hurting it.

Didn't watch it, but I do know that some of the Aspen groves (I think) are supposed to be the largest single living organisms, due to how they the propogate by rhizomes under the ground? Really fascinating to think about.

Geez Rob your taking this living in Canada thing just a little too serious.

That was really interesting, Rob. I'd never heard of TED, but I'll go back there and see what else I can find. As far as the plant neurobiology.....it has crossed my mind before.....I try not to think about it....
