    padauk/walnut shaker oval box

Here's an oval box I got finished last weekend. The top is padauk and the side is walnut that I left a little sapwood in. The bottom is cherry. The shakers probably wouldn't approve, but I don't know any so that's alright.

I also included a picture of the trusty shop dog Joe. He has that deer in the headlight look because he doesn't like the flash.

    Sweet job on the box
The cherry is beautiful. It's nice enough to be used on the top.

Joe sure is a good looking dog. He looks like he is fed up with you taking pictures of him. Oh no, not another one

    Beautiful box.

Joe looks like a reluctant poser.

Very nicely done, John. Joe looks like a kid who just got caught stealing cookies.

I love Joe--great looking friend. And the box isn't bad either. Very nice box indeed.

Very nice box John. Is the walnut pretty cooperative in the bending and all?

Nice job on the box John, I like the nice color combination, should make a great addition in your home. Joe is a neat shop dog, I have a great shop dog as well as long as I don't use the air compresser.
If you make a mistake it was part of the original plan!
