].[/B] Maybe buy a load of maple which works well with either walnut or cherry. That is a very safe suggestion as the blonde maple accentuates either color wood.
Could it be that on a colour wheel the brown of the walnut and deep red of the cherry are neither sufficiently complementery nor contrasting to be naturally appealing to most peoples eye? That's a tough call and one that will ultimately end up as personal preference. Shaz, what's your artists eye and colour training say to you??
Hi Rick and Rob,
It seemed so clear to me back then, when there were standards we accepted. A work surface at 36", a vanity at 30"s. Red, yellow and blue were the primary colors, from which all other colors were made, and could in themselves not be made by the mixing of any other colors.
At 6'4" a "normal" vanity is 5" above my knee and 11" below my hip bone. That would probably be a good height for a urinal.
Don't even think about it!
And then the TV has me baffled. Red, Green, Blue,!!!!!!!!!!
Where is the yellow??????? For myself, I choose what I like with the knowledge I have, if I like it 10 years from now, I made a good choice, sometimes it even looks better then. If not it will lose importance, BUT it is important to discover what WE really like for ourselves. Woodworking with it's myriad of choices is a good place to find peace if only by the decisions we can make today. I have decided my training is good for me and needs be tempered with consideration and respect for those of you on the quest for finding what is best for you.
I think they can work together, powerfully so, but be careful....
