radial arm saw

Alan that is similar to what Im thinking of but it would put a constant 5-10 pounds of pull on the carriage so its stiff and keeps the saw from climbing. All saws in industry should have one cause osha requires them.

The cheap way to do this would be attach a pulley to the arm and tie a rope to the carriage and run it over the pulley and attach a 5 lb weight to the end

Yeah! I want one too. That will cure kickback. And I know just where to get one of those linear motors.

Hey Don, did you see the other one in Scottsdale I posted? Tell the other guy I have my eye on another one, if he is reluctant to deal.

That just reminded me of Dad's 10" RAS he had it set up at one time to drill for face frame drilling for doweling with a small cylinder operated by air & guess what I have the saw from the 60's I think its a 100 series & it still has the air cylinder fastened to the post.It's in real nice shape. No it's not for sale. Yet....
