Ok not so much a thing of beauty but my kids are moving home so that they can save for a trip and university and my 18 yr old asked if I could make him a bed frame for a foam matress. He didn't want to spend much on material so I threw this together yesterday no glue only 3 inch and 1 5/8 deck screws. I tell you this thing is solid. Did it all for 75 bucks ( and 15 of that was the screws)

Legs are 12" glued up 2x3, two 2x4 on the flat with 1x4's spaced and screwed to the 2x4's and then 2x4 on 3 sides on the edge of the frame flush to the top and the whole thing capped with 2x6's. Head board was an after thought but it worked out ok with a 2x4 with a 60 degree angle for a back rest. Sanded with 80 and up to 150 and a dark walnet stain. I think the head board is a softer material as it stained a lot darker. Oh well the oldest saw it and now he wants one too but he wants his out of maple. Yea saving for university Ahhhh to be 20 yrs old again and all the money in the world.
