    black gum

A good friend of mine just had 20 acres cut. Well he has all the tops and the rest of the trees that woun't be logs just sitting on the ground. He had a lot of black gum, sweet gum, red and white oak, beech, and some other mixed hardwoods. Well some of this scrap wood is 24" or bigger. Lots and lots of crotches.
Well for those of you that have turned black gum. would you go ahead and get some of this? I will be going over there again REAL soon and getting a truck load of it, just not sure of the BG.
    Thanks
    Steve

The price is right, I'd go for it. Never turned black gum so don't know what it is like.

I have turned two pieces of black gum. I would get all my truck would haul. Especially free wood.

I've seen some nice stuff turned from black gum. Grab it for sure.

Wish you weren't so far away...and I had more time... I'd take you up on some of that.... I have an art show next that I'm not quite ready for and we have company this weekend, so I'll lose a couple of days work... sounds like a deal though.
