Larry just posted a reference to an article by Fine Woodworking re wood movement and charts.
The amazing US Dept of Agriculture Forestry Laboratory has a pdf available for download of their
Wood Handbook available here this is an unbelieveable great resource and brought to you free by the US taxpayer. Its only a 15MB pdf so you can get the whole book electronically see table 12.5 for the complete chart on 120 species of wood and their characteristics.
What an amazing resource I continue to be stunned by what the US gov puts out. Complain as much as you like but you cannot take the good away from what they do and they make it all available to everyone on the planet.
