    Who are they kidding?

$1400? The spindle is even rusty! Looks like it was stored in a steam shower.

I'm tempted to offer $500 for it. Throw some time at it and have the motor gone through. I really hate to waste even $500 on another Powermatic shaper though.

A Ridgid BS1400 just came up here for the 'sacrificial' price of $350. Or $19 off current retail.

I've just about given up looking on CL for tools -- folks seem to think if they knock $50 to $100 off the "new" price for something a few years old its a bargain.

    For example:

For $100 more, I could by the newer 16" brand new off of Amazon.

CL here has a 10" Crapsman RAS for $300 says "the stand alone is worth $200" Guess he'll be lookin' at that one for quite awhile.

I paid $1200 for basically the exact same junk shaper four years ago. Through an equipment dealer no less, so no real bargain. In working order, and not completely covered in rust.

I thinking even $500 is too much for it. Considering the amount of work that probably has to be put in to get it into proper working order again.
