Greetings from Arkansas:
I think I’ve lurked here long enough and need to introduce myself. I’m retired and moved to Arkansas earlier this year. I’ve been actively involved in woodworking for 35+ years. My current project is to finish the inside of the shop I had built on this property so I can get on with woodworking. Although I do have an old lathe that I have enjoyed using in the past, I would not classify myself a turner. I see myself as being creative not artistic. I view any plan not my own as a ‘starting point’. Things I make are strong, but usually not graceful. My most treasured tool in my shop is a simple little center punch. It’s knurled with flats ground on opposite sides. Stamped on one side is my father’s name. On the other side the date when he made it: August 20, 1919.
I’m looking forward to learning and participating here at Family Woodworking.
