    Some good News from Afghanistan

My Daughter in law just called from North Carolina, My son called her from Afghanistan with some good news. He was promoted to E-6 and also was made Sailor of the year for his division. I am so proud of him.

For those non military type the E-6 means that now he is getting more money and more responsibility and less of a chance of seeing a combat zone so it is significant. There are 9 level of enlisted rank and he has achieved the first 6. This also will make him eligible for more schooling which could lead to a commission as an officer.
