tough choice-Leigh d4r pro or PC Omni 24 inch

I sent the router boss site over to my son to read about it to see what he thinks. I havent spoke to him yet. Originally, I sent over the PC and Leigh info for him to read. Im feeding him also.

Why don't you come over for dinner tonight and I'll let you try out the Router Boss. You can see just how cool it is. I'll even turn up the heat in the shop.

Eagle America offered a one day sale today, for presidents day.
100 dollars off any 500 dollar sale.
INcluding the PC omnijig-24 inch.
I was hoping to get 20% off, but 100 off 599 without tax, and 16 dollars shipping, proved to be the best I might get for a while.
Done deal.

oh crud, I have to hire a kid to lift it on the work bench every time I want to use it.
dont know why I didnt realize how big this thing was.
My wife came home a minute after UPS dropped it off, and smiled, "is this your birthday present I bought?" She originally told me its my retirement present, now shes trying to shortchange me, like a kid whos birthday is on dec. 24th.
The mandatory pics.

Well, I could say I told you so but I won't. ;)

Don't let your wife get away with that birthday gift thing. :D Well, maybe she's going to get you a Ferrari for your retirement gift.

So have you taken it for a test drive yet?

Im trying to get to a certain point on the bed this week, doubt Ill get there, business meeting tomorrow , personal junk thursday, ivig therapy this weekend till tues, so Ill probably be down and I have an array of tests next week, MRI, EMG, topped off with 4 chairs I promised to deliver before mid april.
I think Ill be smart and put it on a shelf for a month, then play with it.
(( watched the dvd today, and read a few pages in the book)

It doesnt look all that complicated, but I guess thats until I try to use it.

Since you mentioned the beds, I've put making a bed onto my ever expanding list of unfinished projects, due to all of your successes in making them....

this one is a full size, and a big headboard with footboard is alot of heavy work for me, tons of parts., tons of machining for raised panels.
Its a long serious build if your going traditional headboard and footboard

Did you get a contract to furnish the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City with new beds?

You must be almost done by now.

set up(I couldnt resist temptation) is fairly easy.

I messed up at first because I forgot one bar.

Im not sorry I bought the prazi, but this is an entirely different class.

Its sort of like the first time I went into a casino and watched the people play craps.
Everyone screaming and throwing money and so many hands and so much noise it looked like the most complicated game on earth.
Then I learned how to play, and realized how simple it was.

When I first looked at dovetail jigs, I was intimidated because they seemed complicated to me. So I bought the prazi, it was small and seemed easy enough for the few dovetails I figured Id do in my lifetime.

The PC jig is an easy setup, I didnt bother fine tuning it to the pine since the pine wasnt cut so perfectly and isnt exactly 3/4 width.
I didnt align one end properly and that was that.

Ill go build a shelf for it now, put it away, and when I finish the bed in a few weeks, Ill take it out again and cut down some hardwoods.

(I choose the tail height)

Nice! I had fun making few DT yesterday as well. Not sure why I waited so long.

Love your description. For some reason I always thought it was so difficult, really, it wasn't...:thumb:
