Silver Solder To The Rescue!

I was working tonight and I tripped over my air hose, my Accuset brad nailer fell off the bench, it landed on my cushioned mats, but the tip broke off the safety do-dad that you have to press against the wood to get the brad nailer to fire

... bad words were said :(

I knew I could not MIG weld it, that is a very small piece, so I got out the silver solder (if that is what it is still called?) and had a go.....

.... boy I was one happy camper that this worked! :thumb:

I will order a replacement part from Senco, but now I'll not be in such a hurry to get it.

I do love to be able to fix my own mistakes, but then again, I seem to get a lot of practice....

I found the part >> HERE <<

AccuSet Lower Safety Element Part# A28075 $7.07

But of course they will not ship outside of the USA

I'll have to keep looking.

Darren, they show the red bumper things as "Obsolete" not longer available :dunno:

I'm glad I could fix it, now I'll have to see if there is some company that will ship this part to me..?

Perhaps one will, see if they will ship it in a large crate made from spanish cedar. :D

Bummer on the obsolete tip, I may just have to try dipping it in plasti-dip.
