    porter cable 548 bayonet saw

I bought an old porter cable model #548 bayonet saw. I want to check the oil level. The 314 trim saw has to be in a certain position to check the oil level. The oil will run out another hole when full. P.c. worm gear tools specify do not over fill. I can not find any filling info on the 548. Thank you

Here is a link to a copy of the manual. It is not very detailed concerning the filling of the oil, but may suffice for your needs.

That was interesting Bill, I actually had to download the link to see what you guys were calling a Bayonet saw... I've always known those as Sabre Saws... thanks.

My parents taught me to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder to find any.
