Question re Dremel scroll saw

I have an old Dremel 16" or 18" two speed scroll saw that I've had a number of years... never used it much, but when I did it was a good saw... the last time I got it out, the slow speed was about twice as fast as the high speed... I mentioned this to an electrical parts outlet here in TN... the guy behind the counter said it was probably a capacitor and that on the Dremel's it tended to be proprietary engineering and probably only place I could get one is from Dremel... The saw is at least 10-15 years old... I've had it nearly 10 years and bought it used. Everything else works fine, just no speed on the high end of the spectrum... anyone know anything about these saws that could offer some advice??
