    New project underway

I have been looking at this for over a month now and yesterday stabilized the paint. Next I will clean the painting and then begin the touch up. This is my friend Grosvenor's Great Grandfather. It's not the worst I have worked on but is badly damaged from water.

Larry I stabilize the paint from behind with a varnish that has a glue like adherence qualities. It seeps through the canvas and bonds the paint with the canvas. Scene I do not have a conservators vacuum table I use the old world method. (not telling) Yes I will build on the missing paint with a palmier before I begin the touch up.

    Looks challenging, Dave.

Rob my spelling is off on this one for sure. Lets just say it's a Extra Heavy gel acrylic medium.

I still think it is a picture of Don all dressed up. Looking forward to the outcome either way.
If you don't take pride in your work, life get's pretty boring.

Rule of thumb is if you donít know what tool to buy next, then you probably donít need it yet.

I have not worked with a museum, I prefer the private sector. Better money and less hassles.
