    Sawmill Fire

    Thank god no one was hurt.

    And it looks like none of the building they operate out of where burnt.

    Glad it wasn't worse. I bet that would go up pretty fast.....

    It sure would and that building with the white overhead door has been known to have 3 or 4 thousand BF of birdeye maple. That does not include the walnut, maple,pine and too many other woods to list.

    Always unfortunate but not an uncommon event for sawmills.

    Fine work by the firefighters to keep it from spreading. Volunteers I'm guessing too.

    How do you think I know there could be 4 or 5 thousand BF of birds eye in that building. Not the one that burned.
    If you remember some time back I posted a pic of a 3 foot black birch burl. It's sitting right next to that phone pole with the transformer on it.
